Josephine graduated in 2013 with a bachelor's  degree in Agroforestry and Rural Development, with a major in Rural Development from The University of Kabianga. Since graduation she has managed to work with various rural community development organizations as a volunteer and a professional.  She has also engaged in a couple of research activities, with the most relevant one entitled: Kenya- EMERGE Reading, a project funded by the World Bank. Its main objective was to establish the main reasons behind lack of readership and reading skills on pre-school and lower primary school children in western Kenya.
