Gain access to recycled book technology and create a prototype.

Durabook (c) is a known version of this technology, there may be others. We need to identify all options, learn more about the inputs and outputs required, and get permission to use it!

Work with diverse authors & literacy experts

Together, we will design books and book club curriculums. Our program will have flexible framework that is inclusive and inspiring, but with the knowledge that adjustments will be necessary depending on the target readers' culture, student reading levels, and available local resources.

Run a pilot program

GBC Founder, Molly Conlin, first ran a book club in northern Togo. Her experience makes this region a great candidate for Global Book Club's first pilot program. However, Global Book Club intends to be a truly global initiative and so, as the program starts to take shape, other regions will be considered or added.

Monitor, evaluate, adjust, and grow!

This program is only as valuable as the community hosting the book clubs deems it to be. We at GBC are committed to maintaining open communication with student Book Club Leaders, partner organizations, local community leaders, and literacy experts. We commit to listening, learning, and changing our program as experiment, learn, and grow together.
